This is the key question that is being asked through our current sermon series and small group studies: Are you an enthusiastic admirer of Jesus, or a completely committed follower? In the first week, people have already stepped out in faith in being baptized, inviting new people to their small groups, confessing and confronting sins, seeking prayer, and stepping up to serve. This week in our small groups we asked the following questions: Why are you here? Are you all in? Have you made it your own? If you are unsure of any of your answers to these questions, we’d love to talk with you about it. We are always available to spend some one-on-one time diving into God’s word and exploring His purpose in our lives. If you are interested in getting connected in a small group in order to participate in this awesome series, be sure to click on the Life Group icon on the home page and request more information. Don’t do life alone!

I was initially taken back by the name of the conference when Luke asked me if I wanted to go to the “XPastor Conference.” I did not know I had been Xed, ha, ha! It actually stands for Executive Pastor, a role I learned a great deal about at the conference. The conference has been going on for about 8 years and is kept at a small number of about 150 to 200. It is really relational and most of the folks there are exceptionally talented in ministry. Several authors spoke during the large group session such as Sam Chand who wrote Cracking Your Church’s Culture Code. My favorite speaker was Jarrod Jones, a Pastor of a successful church called Grace Community church (http://www.graceoc.com/) in Orange County, New Jersey. You could sense the smoke of the battlefield coming off him. There were also many small group breakout sessions that Luke and I attended and took away a number of concepts. We have a new perspective and are eager to share what we …
